Send your link to a carer you trust — by WhatsApp, text, email, or DM. When they register using your link, they are connected to your account automatically.

Get Paid

Once your referred carer completes their first booking on Harborly, we release your £25 reward directly to your bank via Stripe — usually within 7 days. You can track the status of every referral in real time from your dashboard.

Milestone bonuses are paid within 14 days of the qualifying referral completing their first booking. Bonus payments are in addition to the standard £25 per referral. All payments are made via Stripe to the carer’s registered bank account.

To be eligible to refer, your carer profile must be fully verified and you must have completed at least one booking on the platform. Referred carers must not have previously registered with Harborly. Referral rewards are subject to Harborly’s Referral Terms and Conditions.

Platform credit is issued to registered Harborly accounts only. Credits are valid for 12 months from date of issue and can be used against any future booking. Maximum of 10 referral credits per account per calendar year. Credits are non-transferable and have no cash value. Harborly reserves the right to withdraw or amend the referral scheme at any time with reasonable notice.

For same-day urgent discharge referrals, call us directly on 0203 992 8818 — we are available 24 hours a day.

We match within 24 hours

Our operations team — led by Shirley Pratt, who brings 18 years of social work experience — reviews the referral and identifies a verified carer who matches the client’s needs, location, language preference, and availability. For urgent cases, we aim to confirm a match within 4 hours.

You and your client are both notified

A confirmation email is sent to you and to the client simultaneously. The email confirms the matched carer’s name, verification status, and the agreed first visit time. You have a documented record of the referral outcome for your files.

Rewards are triggered automatically when the qualifying action is completed — you do not need to submit a claim or contact us. Payment and credit are issued within the timescales stated in each scheme, and you will receive an email confirmation the moment a reward is processed.

Frequently Asked Questions About Our Referral Scheme

Yes. There is no restriction on referring friends, family members, or colleagues, as long as the person being referred has not previously registered on Harborly. The only requirement is that the referral is genuine — we reserve the right to withhold rewards where we believe a referral has been made fraudulently or in breach of our terms.

The Carer Referral Scheme is specifically for referring new carers to the platform. If a carer also knows families who need care, they can share the general Harborly website link — but the £25 cash reward is only triggered by a successful carer referral. We may introduce a carer-to-client referral reward in a future update.

The referral reward is only triggered when the referred person completes a qualifying action — a first booking for carers and clients, or a registration for professional partners. If 90 days pass without a qualifying action, the referral expires and no reward is issued. We recommend following up with the person you referred if you are keen to ensure they activate in time.

Carers can refer unlimited carers with no cap. Client referrals are capped at 10 per calendar year (£200 maximum annual credit). Professional referrals are unlimited with no financial reward.

The reward goes to the first referral link used during registration. Only one referrer can receive a reward per registered user. If a person registers without using a referral link and then provides one later, the reward cannot be applied retrospectively.

Referral cash rewards paid to carers may be treated as income for self-employed tax purposes. We recommend checking your individual tax position with an accountant. Platform credit issued to clients is unlikely to be taxable but is your responsibility to assess. Harborly does not provide tax advice.

Platform credit for clients applies directly to bookings made through Harborly. It cannot be withdrawn as cash, transferred to another account, or applied to subscription fees. It is designed to reduce the cost of your next care session.
